Strengthening Global Ties: Drogheda Welcomes the Argentine Ambassador

Argentina - Drogheda and the M1Corridor. A new beginning is envisaged following a meeting between Drogheda and District Chamber and ambassador Ana Laura Cachaza and Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Nicolas Vidal.
Hosted both in the chamber office and the Fair Street offices of Louth County Council, with Deputy Mayor, Declan Power and Olivia McCormack, Senior Executive Officer , Economic Development & Tourism, the visit served as a perfect introduction to Drogheda and the strength of the M1 Corridor as a place for international industry and commerce, both for imports and exports.
The ambassador was given a tour of Drogheda from both a cultural and business viewpoint, and was delighted to learn about the role of Queensboro man, Thomas Charles Wright, who helped in the fight for South American Independence
From the story of the Bronte sisters to John Boyle O’Reilly and Francis Ledwidge to St Oliver Plunkett, they got an appreciation of what the Boyne Valley is all about.
Aoife Ruane and the team in the Highlanes Gallery gave a guided tour of the jewel in the crown while Argentinian native, Sabrina Basante, from our members, 2U Digital, explained about the many facets of international life that exists by the Boyneside.
The party left laden down with facts and figures about the chamber and its members, from WaterWipes and the Boyne Valley Group, Suretank, the ECO offshore wind group, the new IDA Park, the Northern Cross Route, Bettystown House and the Cottages, the ELI English School, Drogheda Port and the Turkish links, and so much more. All helped to tell a little of the story of what Drogheda is all about. This is just the start of the journey.....
