Building Bridges: Drogheda Chamber Strengthens Cross-Border Collaboration

The potential for collaboration along the M1 Corridor – as part of the greater Dublin-Belfast Economic Corridor project – was one of the talking points during a cross-border engagement meeting between Drogheda and District Chamber and the Chief Executive of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, David Burns.

The chamber continues to grow its national and international footprint and welcomed the opportunity to show off the many key assets to be found in this region.

The likes of the new Drogheda digital hub on Narrow West Street is seen as a huge boost to those starting out in business in the area, while on a tourism front, the Oldbridge Estate is a significant national attraction.

The chamber signed a ‘Friendship and Solidarity’ agreement with Lisburn Chamber of Commerce last year and the visit of the council chief formed part of that collaboration.

“It’s all about building bridges and opportunities for our members and the community. Drogheda does not have a ceiling when it comes to potential and the next few years is full of promise as the town and district grows,” chamber CEO, Hubert Murphy, stated.

“Lisburn is very similar to Drogheda in many ways and learning from each other is a key to growth and making sure ambition is realised.”
